‘American Horror Story’ to do ‘crossover’ season

Los Angeles (CNN)If you think “American Horror Story” has done it all, think again.

Creator Ryan Murphy has announced he plans to combine two of the FX anthology series’ previous themes for an upcoming “crossover” season.
“It’s not going to be next season, but we’re going to do a season that’s a crossover between ‘Murder House’ and ‘Coven,’ which is very bizarre,” Murphy told the crowd at Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest Sunday.
The season will feature characters from both installments, he said.
Murphy said he’s started approaching actors to see if they’re available.
“American Horror Story: Murder House” was the first season of the franchise and starred Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, and Taissa Farmiga as a family who moved into a home with a dark past.
The New Orleans-set “Coven” was the third season and centered on a coven of Salem witches. It starred Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy and Jessica Lange.
Farmiga, Lange, Paulson and Evan Peters were among the actors who appeared in both seasons, but Murphy did not clarify how such a conflict would be handled in the crossover season.
The tricky planning involved in the crossover season will prevent it from being the next installment of the “American Horror Story” franchise, Murphy said.
He has not announced the theme for Season 7 of “American Horror Story.”
The series is currently airing Season 6, the theme for which remained a secret until the first episode debuted in September.
Murphy is currently working on casting two upcoming seasons of Emmy-winningAmerican Crime Story” one about Hurricane Katrina and another about the murder of Gianni Versace.
The latter was announced earlier this month.
Murphy said he was motivated to take on the death of the famed designer because he was always “very moved and freaked out” by his killing.
Versace was shot to death on the steps of his Miami home in 1997 by serial killerAndrew Cunanan.
Murphy said the “manhunt season” will focus on how Versace’s killer got away with being undetected long enough tokill Versace.
“The tragedy of the Versace murder was that it should not have happened,” Murphy said. “[Cunanan] should have been caught by then, but he was not caught because he was targeting gay people and people didn’t care.”
The Versace season will film in April, while the Katrina installment will begin production in June.
“[It’s a] really tragic story and I’ve always said the thing that makes me cry the most is lost potential or lost possibility,” Murphy added. “And I think he was such an amazing force that was taken too soon, for reasons he shouldn’t have been. That is a true crime story in America, so we’re tackling it.”

The Queen’s Guards Surprise Onlookers With Their Cover Of The “Game Of Thrones” Theme Song

“A Game of Thrones,” the first book in George R. R. Martin’s popular fantasy series, was published in 1996. Fifteen years and four books later, HBO picked the massive story to become a series on their channel. The show was an immediate success due to its existing fan base from the novels and plenty of viewers experiencing the excitement for the first time.

In the four and a half years since the series premiered, “Game of Thrones” has established itself as a cultural phenomenon in a way few other series have. The show’s theme, which was composed by Ramin Djawadi, has become hugely iconic as well, even being covered by popular bands like Chvrches. Having popular bands cover your theme song is one thing, but becoming so popular that the Queen’s Guards pay tribute puts “Game of Thrones” in a class of its own.

These New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers Are Mind-Blowing

So, we always put that spoiler alert at the top of posts that reveal plot points from “Game of Thrones” or A Song of Ice and Fire. But there are “spoilers” and there are SPOILERS. And this post contains the latter. So stop right here if you don’t want to know some crazy stuff from Season 6 of the show.

Still here? OK. You were warned.

Today, invaluable “Game of Thrones” fan sites Watchers on the Wall and Winter Is Coming posted a whole bunch of information about a big Season 6 battle currently being filmed in Northern Ireland. We’ve known about this battle for more than a month: Kit Harrington was spotted participating in it, which is how we learned for sure that Jon Snow would come back from the dead in the next season.

We also already knew that people on set are calling it “The Battle of the Bastards” — because the two armies are led by Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton, formerly Ramsay Snow. Ramsay’s army will include fighters from many Northern houses, while Jon’s is made up largely of Wildlings.

But the new batch of leaks reveals some crucial — and insane — new details about this big battle, which is rumored to go down in Episode 9, traditionally the spot for the most dramatic moments of the season.

For starters, Jon’s forces will apparently include at least one giant — a creature second only to a dragon in terms of the damage it can wreak. On the other hand, there hasn’t yet been any evidence that the White Walkers or their zombie hordes are involved.

The biggest surprise, though, is the presence of someone who has nothing to do with the supernatural: Sansa Stark. Actress Sophie Turner has been spotted near the set of the battle. You may recall that at the end of Season 5, Sansa and Theon Greyjoy jumped off the walls of Winterfell to escape from the vile Ramsay.

It’s not yet clear how Sansa is involved — or, for that matter, whether her escape attempt was successful. She might have made it to Jon Snow, and could be helping his cause … or she might be Ramsay’s prisoner once again.

That’s an especially scary prospect, because Winter is Coming writes that Ramsay has been spotted “tying two known characters to X-crosses upside down and burning them during the fighting.” (The Bolton sigil is a flayed man upside down on an X-cross.) So if Ramsay managed to recapture Sansa and Theon, they might be the two characters he kills. If that’s the case, it would certainly be the most upsetting character death since the Red Wedding — and it might even be worse.

In the interest of ending on a high note, though, let’s venture, for a moment, even further into the dark realms of speculation. The best-case scenario for the battle might go like this: Sansa, Jon and maybe even Rickon reunite and lead a Wildling army against the Boltons, who are supported by much of the North. But when the other Northern houses see the two Stark children, they turn on Ramsay and win the battle. Then everyone lives happily forever after. Hurrah!

But wait. That still leaves two unidentified “known characters” burning on Ramsay’s cross. And we still have no idea what Littlefinger is up to: He said, in Season 5, that he would muster an army in the Vale and use it to invade the North. And even if the White Walkers don’t show up during the battle, they’re out there beyond The Wall, getting stronger by the day. So much for ending on a high note. In the world of “Game of Thrones,” there’s really no way to win.

Here’s the inevitable mashup between two major deaths on ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Walking Dead’

Looks Like ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Is Getting Delayed

“Game of Thrones” will likely premiere later than normal next year.

Past seasons of HBO’s hit show have generally debuted sometime in early April; Season 3 hit the earliest, on March 31, while season 1 hit the latest, on April 17. So fans — with appetites for new material whetted by the many spoilers that have leaked out of the show’s set — have been hoping that Season 6 would follow a similar timeframe. Or even earlier!

But it looks like that’s not happening. Today, HBO announced that Martin Scorsese’s much-hyped rock drama “Vinyl” will start on Feb. 14, while comedies “Girls” and “Togetherness” are returning on Feb. 21. All three shows will run for 10 episodes — which implies that “Vinyl” won’t end until April 17, while the other two won’t end until April 24.

“Vinyl” will occupy the time slot — Sunday at 9 p.m. — that “Game of Thrones” normally does. So unless HBO decided to make the virtually unprecedented step of switching its biggest show to another night, the earliest it could possibly return is April 24, before the season finales of “Girls” and “Togetherness.”

Last season of “Game of Thrones,” though, was paired with “Silicon Valley” and “Veep,” not “Girls” and “Togetherness” — which would imply that “Game of Thrones” won’t premiere before May 1

Yet even this seems like a dicey proposition: HBO generally leaves a week between its quirky “seasons.” If the network does so in this case, “Game of Thrones” might not start until May 8. Or even later!

HBO, for its part, told HuffPost that it has not yet set a premiere date for the show, and would not comment on how the air dates of “Vinyl,” “Girls” and “Togetherness” might affect “Game of Thrones,” with a representative nothing they “can’t confirm any dates at all.”

This is, needless to say, a major bummer.

There is one ray of light here though. Albeit a dim one. Season 6 will be the first season of “Game of Thrones” to cover material that hasn’t yet been covered in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire books. And no one knows when the next book in the series, The Winds of Winter, will be released. But many fans believe — based on a few scraps of news — that Martin is racing to finish this book in time to release it before the next season, in order to keep the show from spoiling the book.

This may be a stretch, but it’s not inconceivable that Martin and his publishers told HBO that they would be releasing The Winds of Winter on, say, April 30 — and HBO scheduled the show accordingly. That sounds a little convoluted, admittedly, but we are talking about the people behind Littlefinger and Varys. Convoluted secret plots are their lives.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Reveals Another Character Is Officially Dead

Game of Thrones” fans, you finally know something!

To keep fans interested and occupied, the show has come out with signature beer, board games like Risk and Monopoly and even collectible kits featuring statuettes of the Three-Eyed Raven and Jon Snow‘s sword Longclaw, but now HBO is finally giving us secrets, too.

    (Warning! Spoilers are coming!)

A new book on the show from HBO and Running Press, Game of Thrones: The Noble Houses of Westeros, explains the different House sigils and history, and, in the process, reveals which characters are actually dead. And we just have one thing to say …

    R.I.P., Myrcella Baratheon.

    Image: Tumblr

We’ve heard over and over that Stannis is actually dead, which the book also confirms, but Myrcella has been a mystery, until now. Noble Houses explains:

Betrothed to Trystane Martell, son of Prince Doran, she was poisoned by Ellaria Sand, who wished to avenge the death of her lover Oberyn Martell. Myrcella died in the arms of Jamie Lannister, who she acknowledged as her father before her death.

Died in the arms of Jamie Lannister, who she acknowledged as her father before her death.” OK, gosh, we get it. She dead.

When The Huffington Post spoke with Areo Hotah actor DeObia Oparei earlier this year, even he wouldn’t confirm whether Myrcella was actually dead for fear it was a spoiler, but now it’s all in the open. Thanks, HBO.

Along with Stannis and Myrcella, the book also confirms the death of Arya’s sword-fighting instructor, Syrio Forel. In a passage on former Kingsguard Meryn Trant, it says Arya holds Trant responsible for Syrio’s death. Syrio’s fate has been speculated about for a while, with some fans thinking he may have survived his fight with Trant, but nope. He dead, too.

So just to recap: hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your husband, ’cause they’re killing everybody’s favorite characters out here.

Spoilers: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Instagrams Picture Of Season 6 Script

Game of Thrones fans, today is your lucky day.

Earlier this evening, one of GoT’s newest cast members, Elie Haddad, leaked some season six spoilers after Instagramming a page from the script.

Though Haddad deleted the Instagram moments after posting it, some crafty fans were able to screenshot the image and decipher the minuscule text.

The scene seems to involve two Dothraki talking about Khaleesi. The dialogue, interpreted by Zap2it, is as follows:

‘Shes paler than milk,’one character says, referring to the Khaleesi in this instance, most likely Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).

The other replies, ‘I bet she gets nice and pink when you pinch her.’

From there, one says, ‘Id like to know what a Khaleesi tastes like,’ while the other fires back, ‘Good. You can suck my d***.’

    Gotta love HBO.

The sixth season of Game of Thrones premiereson HBO next spring.

Game Of Thrones Showrunners May Be Faking Season 7 Set Leaks To Throw Off Spoilers! Ugh!

    Hold the phone door…

The set of Game Of Thrones has been particularly leaky during the filming of Season 7, and we haven’t been complaining!

Over the past week, photos emerged from the Zumaia set on Itzurun beach showing spoiler-y scenes of Jon Snow meeting with some MAJOR characters.

Related: Lena Headey Receives Bad News In Custody Battle With Ex-Husband

While the leaks are a treat for those who want info on the HBO fantasy hit months ahead of time, there’s a small chance some photos and video from set won’t actually reflect what’s in the show!

That’s right. Some of these new “spoilers” can very well be staged by the producers so they can misdirect the show’s passionate fandom!

That happened to be the case last year when photographers snapped pics of former GoT actor Sibel Kekilli — who played Tyrion’s former lover Shae — visiting the set.

Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss dressed her in costume to be photographed on set JUST to mess with the press!

Related: GoT Teases Brand New Characters For Season 7!

This tactic caused many sites to claim Shae would somehow return in Season 6, adding confusion to which dead characters would be coming back, since Kit Harington was spotted on set in costume as well.

Though some might think it’s a stretch that the showrunners would film an entire fake scene just to throw us off their scent, it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Especially since the key players are all expected to be crossing paths in Season 7, it wouldn’t surprise us if the producers went to extra lengths just to keep fans on their toes. Either way, we’ll find out what really goes down when the show returns next summer.

Do YOU think the recent GoT spoilers are the real deal?

New ‘Game Of Thrones’ Actor Hints That A Dead Character Is Returning

“Game of Thrones” claims “All men must die,” but it doesn’t really seem that way.

Actor Ian McShane hasn’t even appeared on “Game of Thrones” yet, but he’s already one of our favorite characters — mainly because he’s dropping tantalizing spoilers.

Though we don’t officially know who McShane is playing, the actor on Thursday gave Pop Goes The News a “hint” about his character’s identity.

I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think youre never going to see again. Ill leave it at that,” McShane said.

    Whaaaattttt?

Seven Hells! A character we thought we’d never see again?

People have been speculating about McShane’s mystery character for a while, but this changes everything. The actor also said he will only appear in a “one-off episode.”

So who is McShane talking about bringing back?

We’ve already seen leaked images revealing Jon Snow is likely returning to “Game of Thrones,” despite being “dead.” Though it’s possible McShane could have something to do with Snow coming back, it’s doubtful that he’d be “responsible” for it. Melisandre is already involved in Snow’s storyline, and she’s rumored to play a role in his possible resurrection.

If not Snow, other possibilities could be The Hound or Lady Stoneheart. In that case, Watchers on the Wall suggests McShane could be playing either Septon Meribald or the Elder Brother from George R.R. Martin’s novel A Feast for Crows.

Assuming McShane will only appear in a single episode like he says he will, the Elder Brother probably makes the most sense. In the books, when Brienne meets the Elder Brother, a gravedigger appears whom many fans believe is actually The Hound. The Brother could be “responsible” for bringing him back. This would add a whole different element to the story, too, since Brienne already met the Hound on the show, and it didn’t go that well.

If McShane plays Meribald, a character who’s been speculated about since a casting call in May, then a zombified Catelyn Stark could return as Lady Stoneheart. Brienne ends up running into Stoneheart while traveling with Meribald in the books.

Watchers on the Wall reports that Rory McCann, who plays The Hound, has been spotted in Belfast, and Catelyn Stark actress Michelle Fairley is rumored to have been there at various times over the last few months.

Is McShane talking about Stoneheart? The Hound? Someone else?

    Season 6 is coming.

Obama Can’t Keep Track Of The Names Of Game Of Thrones Characters

Like so many of us, President Barack Obama has trouble remembering the names of all of the characters from “Game of Thrones.”

During an interview with GQ, Obama told Bill Simmons that he loved the show, but struggled to keep track of its cast of characters.

“My favorite character is probablythe dwarf, whats his name?,” he said, referring to Tyrion Lannister, who is played by Peter Dinklage in the show. “The problem with ‘Game of Thrones,’ though, is that I dont remember the names of any of the characters.”

He did, however say that there was one character he had no trouble remembering.

“I remember the characters, so when I watch it, I know exactly whats going on. But if you read a review of the show afterwards and theyre mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.”

Obama is apparently so into the show, that he apparently couldn’t resist asking the show’s director whether Snow was alive or dead after the season five finale.

“You didn’t kill Jon Snow, did you?,” show director David Nutter claimed Obama asked him.

There you have it, Perezcious readers! President Obama’s favorite character is Tyrion Lannister, played by Peter Dinklage.

The politician explained that even though he LOVES the popular program on HBO, he can never remember what the characters are called.

Well, except for one anyway. He explained:

“I remember the characters, so when I watch it, I know exactly what’s going on. But if you read a review of the show afterwards and they’re mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.”

And naturally, we are just DYING to know which character the President associates with Republican hopeful Donald Trump! His response?

Stephen Colbert Schools Obama on Game of Thrones

The Late Show host is devastated that the president  doesnt know more about Game of Thrones.

President Barack Obama is supposedly a huge fan of the HBO series Game of Thrones. He gets advance episodes provided to him by the network and has expressed his concern over the fate of a certain Lord Commander of the Nights Watch to frequent Thrones director David Nutter.

But in a new GQ interview with Bill Simmons, who recently landed at HBO as his own site, Grantland, went down, the president admitted hes not the GOT expert he claims to be.

Here is their exchange about the show:

Which character do you identify with?

My favorite character is probablythe dwarf, whats his name?

    Oh, yeah. Peter Dinklages character.

The problem with Game of Thrones, though, is that I dont remember the names of any of the characters.

    I dont, either.

I remember the characters, so when I watch it, I know exactly whats going on. But if you read a review of the show afterwards and theyre mentioning such and such, the only one I remember is Jon Snow, because I can pronounce Jon Snow.

This was enough to send admitted fantasy nerd Stephen Colbert into a near rage during his monologue Wednesday night.

Whats his name, Mr. President? Colbert asked, referring to Obamas favorite character. His name is Tyrion Lannister of the House Lannister, youngest son of Lord Tywin Lannister. Whats his name? One-time richest man in the Seven Kingdoms and Lord Paramount of the Westerlands. I thought you followed politics, sir!

Youre telling us you dont even remember Hodors name? Colbert asked later. Well, I guess thats understandable, he only says it like 50 times per episode!

Most damning of all, according to Colbert, was Obamas suggestion that Jon Snow is the only character name from the show that he can pronounce. After all, Nobody in all of Games of Thrones has a stranger name than Barack Obama.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Poster Might Confirm Jon Snow’s Bloody Return

UPDATE: Even “The Walking Dead,” which recently baited viewers into thinking fan favorite Glenn was a goner, called out HBO for the emotionally manipulative Jon Snow poster.

PREVIOUSLY: The new teaser poster for the upcoming sixth season of “Game of Thrones” has us more confused than ever.

Will we see Jon Snow’s luscious locks on our TV screens once again or are we doomed to watch “Pompeii” to get our Kit Harington fix? Let’s hope for the former.

Harington’s “Game of Thrones”character Jon Snow, of course, met his end (or did he?) in the closing moments of the Season 5 finale after being stabbed multiple times by his Nights Watch brothers and left for dead. People got pretty upset

Well, someone at HBO has a sense of humor and placed Snow’s bloody mug front and center on the first poster for the new season, fueling fan speculation that we haven’t seen the last of one of the series’ most beloved characters.

Everyone from Harington’s co-stars to HBO executives and even the president of the United States have confirmed that Snow is as dead as a doornail, but hope springs eternal. “Game of Thrones” diehards have refused to accept Snow’s fate, especially after Harington was spotted in Belfast on the show’s set.

The poster also reveals that “Game of Thrones” will return in April, so we’re still months away from getting a straight answer.

If you want to make your Monday even more depressing, watch Jon Snow’s death scene below.

HBO, just bring him back already or leave us alone to grieve. We can’t take the agony of not knowing any longer.

Game of Thrones: Jon Snow is back, soget set for a wild season six

‘Game of Thrones’ might be fantasy, but its economic impact on Northern Ireland is very, very real.

Winter is coming to Westeros and Essos, but the forecast in Northern Ireland is looking bright.

As far as historians are aware, Northern Ireland has never had to contend with dragons, white walkers, or seasons that last for years on end (unless … maybe that explains why it’s always raining there?).

    But Northern Ireland
has seen its fair share of conflict and turmoil, to the point where a major period of the 20th century in Ireland (from 1968-1998) is actually known as “The Troubles.” And, unfortunately, that kind of prolonged unrest can leave a devastating mark on the economy.

However, things are looking up, thanks in part to a little book-series-turned-hit-TV-show called “Game of Thrones.”

In the last five years, “Game of Thrones” alone has brought in approximately 110 million (~$170 million) to the Northern Ireland economy.

The HBO show is responsible for creating around 900 full-time jobs and 5,700 part-time jobs in the area, which includes catering, hospitality, and other accommodation services in addition to the film crews, production assistants, and other local artisans that work directly on the show.

Ingrid Houwers and her array of pretty dead things. Photo by Charles McQuillan/Getty Images.

Ronan Hill is a sound mixer on “Game of Thrones” and I’m sure you can imagine how the Emmy displayed in his Northern Irish home will make it even easier for him to get jobs in the future. He’s also up for another award this year. (The show has 24 total Emmy nominations this year alone.)

The success of artists like Houwers and Hill also affects the tourist industry and of course, more people visiting Northern Ireland means jobs for people in Northern Ireland. Just look at how the tourism rate in New Zealand has doubled (making it the country’s second largest industry) in the 15 years since the first “Lord of the Rings” film was released.

This influx of tourism is a regular economic stimulus for people like William Fells, a sword and
archery instructor who plays Jon Snow on tours of Castle Ward, the real-life Winterfell, and for Damian Carr, an actor and sword expert who has appeared as an extra on the hit show.

When Carr first started working at Game of Thrones tours, the tours were only running once a week. But five years later, they’re a full-time and fully-booked business.

So while I can’t alleviate your concerns about George R.R. Martin killing off your favorite character (again), I can assure you that, at least in Northern Ireland, things behind-the-scenes are looking better than ever.

Just, uh, if you visit, be sure to tip your tour guide.

Everything we know about ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 so far

So A ‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Set A Record For Throwing A Keg

Does this ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 teaser validate a Jon Snow theory?

The first Game of Thrones teaser trailer for season 6 is here, and if those visions are any indication its about to get bloody.

Jon Snowwho already graced the teaser posterand many of the other characters who have been dealt horrible fates serve as a backdrop of what will likely be one of many ominous conversations between Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow), who have been training his Sight abilities off-screen over the past season.

We watch, we listen, and we remember, the Three-Eyed Raven says to Bran. The past is already written. The ink is dropping.

They have no idea whats going to happen, Bran answers after a lingering shot of Jons dead body.

While Bran and the Three-Eyed Raven never mention any of the characters by name, its evident that theres a particular focus on Jon. But that last shot in particularwhich pairs Jons final shot with Bran full into warging modeoffers up an intriguing question. Is that a nod to the theory that Jon could warg into Ghost (an ability Jon and all of the Starks possess) after his death, or is the show just messing around with us?

Jon Snow Looms Large in Game of Thrones Season 6 Teaser

What does this new Game of Thrones teaser mean for the fate of Jon Snow?

The first teaser trailer for Season Six of HBOs Game of Thrones just dropped and the entire first half of the video consists on one long shot of Kit Harringtons Jon Snow.

They have no idea whats going to happen, the young Starks voice can be heard saying, at once teasing the shows loyal fans and trying to put the conspiracy theories to rest.

Hes rightwe dont know whats going to happen. We dont even have George R.R. Martins books to fall back on anymore. But after Harringtons face graced the official poster last month and now dominates this new teaser, there is no doubt that we will be seeing Jon Snow again in one capacity or another.

8 Reasons Jon Snow Has To Make A Comeback In Game Of Thrones’

(Warning: There are spoilers throughout article.)

When HBO released its first poster for the upcoming sixth season of “Game of Thrones,” there was a sigh of relief amongst all Jon Snow fans.

Featured up close and personal is the blood-spattered profile of our beloved 998th Commander of the Nights Watch.

For many, the new season, set to air next spring, was seemingly bleak, with the death of our favorite Northern bastard Jon Snow perishing at the hands of his own men.

Some of us, however, just knew he was meant to carry on into the next season of this suspenseful drama.

How did we know this with such certainty, though?

Here are eight reasons why Jon Snow must return in season six:

    1. Arya still needs to show him the water dancing skills shes learned with Needle, Jons gift to her in season one.

In one of the first few episodes of the series, Jon gives his little sister Arya a sword she names Needlewhen they are made to part ways Jon to the Wall and Arya to Kings Landing with her father and sister.

From the moment she arrived there, she began training with a master sword fighter, the Braavos Syrio Forel.

Throughout the seasons, she has not only engaged in practice combat, but has also done her fair share of killing with Needle, too.

Its only fair Jon is able to see the progress his little sister has made, thanks to his gift.

    2. Someone needs to kill that assh*le Ser Alliser Thorne, and no one is more deserving of this honor than Jon Snow himself.

From the moment Jon Snow arrived at the Wall in season one, Ser Alliser Thorne has had it out for him.

Could it be because he is jealous of the nephew of Benjen Stark, First Ranger of the Nights Watch?

Or maybe, is it because hes a bitter man eclipsed by the swordsmanship of this handsome newcomer?

Or perhaps, Alliser is just a dick, dead set on making everyones life miserable and, consequently, having thousands of viewers to despise him.

Because of this along with the fact he was the first to stab Jon in that heinous set-up in the finale of season five we need to see justice be served when our favorite Stark is resurrected and can seek his revenge.

    3. Not only is he one of the only people willing to protect Sam, but hes also his best friend.

Where would Samwell Tarly be without his best friend, Jon?

Thats like splitting up Barney and Fred (“The Flintstones”), Leonard and Sheldon (“The Big Bang Theory”), Blair and Serena (“Gossip Girl”) or any of the main characters on “Friends.”

Did we ever see our favorite TV show BFFs get separated by death in any of these situations?

No, we did not. So we cant in this case, either.

    4. As the 998th commander of the Nights Watch, he has to lead humans in the fight against the White Walkers.

We all know Stark’s motto, “Winter is coming,” is becoming increasingly prominent in “Game of Thrones.”

The threat of the White Walkers approaching Westeros is quite obvious by the end of season five, which means we can expect a lot of them in the coming season this spring.

As men of the Nights Watch and those closest to the land beyond the Wall, it is their duty to protect any dangers coming North.

Its clear that before his own men betrayed him, Jon Snow had a plan to protect everyone north of the Wall.

The first to attempt amalgamating the forces of both the Nights Watch and the Free People, Jon had a plan that was better than any other put on the table.

This is just another reason why we need him back to save Westeros.

5.We still do not know theidentity of Jon’s mother.

Even though Eddard Stark is dead (and Robert Baratheon, another character who knew Jons mother at least at some point in his younger years), there must be someone else who knows the second half of Jons parentage.

Whether his mother is still alive or not, this is something I feel George R. R. Martin wouldnt leave unanswered.

In fact, I believe it will be something that will be explained in season six, once Jon returns to us.

    6. If he is dead,Melisandre can bring him back.

Melisandre so conveniently arrived at the Wall at the end of season five, shortly before Jon Snow was attacked.

As mentioned throughout the show, shes been known to bring more than one person back from the dead, so why not our beloved Jon?

Besides, she needs him to take back the North and (potentially now, after Stannis presumed death at the hands of Brienne of Tarth) lead its army to victory.

    7.He has his direwolf, Ghost.

Jon can possibly become a warg via his direwolf, Ghost.

You know, he could enter and control the minds of other mammals, like Jons half-brother Bran Stark so often does with his direwolf Summer and Hodor.

Though Jons ability to do this hasnt yet been demonstrated in the show, weve seen hes able to do this in the book series.

Therefore, there has to be a chance this is an option for his continuity as a character.

Despite this not being the most preferable option (I mean, wed all rather see Kit Haringtons face than Ghosts, am I right?), its better than having him completely written off the show.

Which brings me to my final reason

    8. Hes too hot to kill off I mean, come on!

Yes, I know Robb Stark (played by Richard Madden) and Khal Drogo (played by Jason Momoa) were also too hot to kill off.”

But this is Jon Snow, people!

You cant keep that boyish charm, lilting British accent, rugged appearance and beautiful head of hair on screen for five entire seasons, only to have us watch him be brutally and tragically murdered before our very eyes.

Its too cruel, even for the likes of GRRM.

Whether it be legitimate reasons or superficial ones, it’s clear Jon Snow can’t truly dead not just in our hearts, but in the world of Westeros, as well.

Now that HBO has released the first poster for season six, we know that its only a matter of time before our favorite curly-haired commander returns to our screens.

The only thing we have to worry about now is getting through the next four or so months, waiting for the season premiere.

Kelly Clarkson Made A ‘Game Of Thrones’ Christmas Card, And It’s Perfect (Photo)

Last week, HBO released the first teaser for “Game of Thrones” season six, and the Internet literally went into meltdown mode major.

And although the show won’t be back on air until April — kill me now — there are some “GoT” enthusiasts who decided to show their fandom a little early.

One of those enthusiasts is Kelly Clarkson, who shot the most unbelievable “Game of Thrones”-themed family Christmas card in all the Seven Kingdoms.

As you can see in the photo above, House Blackstock, comprised of Kelly’s husband, Brandon, her daughter, River Rose, and two stepchildren, Savannah and Seth, donned some pretty medieval-looking attire and took a very serious-looking photo.

The castle backdrop and ominous sky really tie this thing together, but the adorable River Rose just couldn’t keep from cracking an adorable smile.

Kids just play by their own rules, right?

Either way, we’d say all of Westeros would be pretty impressed with this card.

We’re getting some ‘Game of Thrones’ history in a new animated feature

Game of Thrones may encompass the vast and complicated storytelling of modern-day Westeros, but one of the older and more devastating parts of Westerosi history is finally getting the gorgeous retelling it deserves.

A 20-minute animated feature called The Dance of Dragons produced by Lindeman & Associates Adam Vadnais will be included with the Game of Thrones season 5 Blu-ray set. It illustrates the Targaryen civil war that took place nearly 200 years before Game of Thrones between Queen Rhaenyra I and King Aegon II. It ultimately determined the line of succession in the Targaryen line and helped bring the extinction of the Targaryens dragonsat least until Daenerys hatched her three dragons centuries later.

The preview, hosted by IGN, showcases a particularly fierce battle between Prince Aemond and Prince Daemon in the sky above Harrenhal while riding their dragons. This particular segment is narrated by Pedro Pascal, who portrayed Oberyn Martell, but it will also include voice overs from other dearly departed cast members such as Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon), Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark), Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon), Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen), and Kerry Ingram (Shireen Baratheon).

“When HBO and Adam Vadnais broached the idea of adapting The Dance of Dragons for the Blu-ray special features, I was thrilled, Game of Thrones writer Dave Hill told IGN. I loved the story as George had written it and felt honored to help bring an animated version to the fans. Every year I try to keep the scripts worthy of the incredible work that I know to expect from Adam and his team. This year, more so than ever, they’ve set the bar astronomically high with the Dance of Dragons featurette. Winter will eventually come, but not the day that Adam and his team fail to amaze me.”

Show viewers will recall part of the story from the season 5 episode The Dance of Dragons. Shireen was reading a book written about the Dance of the Dragons and told both Davos Seaworth and her father Stannis about it.

    HBO Go

While it served as a great way to drop some Westerosi history for those who dont read the books, it was ultimately revealed as a hint of foreshadowing. Stannis sacrificed Shireen in order to ensure victory, and House Baratheon was never the same.

    HBO Go

    HBO Go

But outside of the show, not every part of the Dance of the Dragons is known. Information is spread throughout a number of books and stories written in-universe or by George R.R. Martin, but he plans to publish a full history of that civil warat 80,000 wordsin the book Fire and Blood.
