Daenerys & Jon Snow Meet On ‘Game Of Thrones’ & It Wasnt What We Expected

This post contains spoilers from Game Of Thrones Season 7, Episode 3.Ever since Daenerys Targaryen left Meereen for the last time, sailing away from Essos and Daario, fans have wondered how long until we see her face-to-face with the characters we’ve known for so Long in Westeros. So far, the show hasn’t disappointed. Last week gave us Daenerys vs. Varys, and it was magical, as well as Dany and Olenna Tyrell one-on-one. This week, from the first trailer for episode 3, the show has hyped the biggest meeting of main characters yet: Daenerys and Jon Snow meeting on.

This is a meeting with lots of moving parts to it. Not only did Jon and Dany meet, there’s also Jon and Tyrion’s first meeting since Season 1. Varys will also get a look at the man who’s been named King in the North for the first time. Then there’s Davos, who has come with Jon Snow to Dragonstone. This castle was Davos’ home for many years. It’s where he was brought up from smuggler to Hand of the King by Stannis. (It’s also where he lost his fingers.) It’s where he and Shireen had so many happy memories.

And it’s where the woman who killed Shireen, Melisandre, is currently hanging out. How badly can this go?

When it comes to this being the hoped-for, romantic meeting of two characters the fandom has been shipping, it turns out it was a little more like the beginning of .

It didn’t go at all like we’d hoped. And why should it? After all, these are two leaders with 100% differing agendas and aims currently. Daenerys is, for lack of a better phrase, still focusing on what Jon called Yesterday’s Wars. She summoned him here to bend the knee and be her first major figurein her Support House Targaryen collection.

HBO

Jon Snow didn’t come here to bend knees. He doesn’t give a good goddamn who sits on the Iron Throne, and he’s not interested in playing any games. Dany has dragonglass. Jon needs dragonglass. End of list.

But while the focus of the convo was Jon and Dany, and their talking past each other’s agendas, we should not overlook Tyrion and Davos. Tyrion’s expression, first of all, when Jon started going on about the Night King, was one for the meme collection. Earlier in the episode, the two seemed to be reconnecting, especially over Sansa. (She’s starting to let on, indeed.) It certainly helped that Tyrion was more than happy to confirm the marriage was not consummated and he’s happy to let an annulment stand. Also, admitting that you never get used to the dragons was a nice touch.

HBO

But Tyrion’s face when Jon started going on about the Night King was one for the meme-makers. It was a little like friending an old buddy from college on Facebook, only to have him start spouting crazed DNC conspiracy theories on your wall. Tyrion knows Jon’s not crazy, but in terms of a good first-impression-after-all-this-time, you could see the doubt starting to creep in.

Meanwhile, Davos, who so far has been one of Jon’s best lieutenants, almost lost his head and gave away the store on Jon’s resurrection. It’s one thing for Jon Snow to be spouting something that sounds like Old Nan’s tales and hysterically demanding everyone get armed with dragonglass. But Oh yeah, and I died, and this lady named Melisandre brought me back to life hey, you haven’t seen her recently have you? is going to go over like, well, Yara’s fleet when attacked by Euron. As it is, Dany and Tyrion are both going to puzzle over what taking a knife to his heart for his people was supposed to mean.

HBO

(Speaking of which, did you see that look that flashed over Dany’s face when Varys told her that? Me too.)

This Character Was Just Killed Off On ‘Game of Thrones’, Sealed With A Kiss

This post contains spoilers from Game Of Thrones Season 7, Episode 3. Season 6 was notable for the sheer scale of death in every episode. With the exception of Blood of my Blood every episode contained multiple deaths of named characters, from Doran and Trystane Martellin the premiere, all the way to nearly the entire Tyrell household in the finale. Season 7 has gotten off to a slower start, but a huge death came in episode 3:Cersei kisses Tyene with poison on and her death is imminent.

In terms of an entrance, Euron’s marching his prizes through the streets of King’s Landing made quite the impression. (I mean, who doesn’t love a parade?) But the question was, how would these prizes go over with Cersei Lannister? She all but sent Euron away with the promise she’d consider marriage for the right price. Are two Sand Snakes and Yara Greyjoy the right price? Does Cersei even want Yara? And what in heaven’s name will Jaime make of all this?

In the end, Cersei was quite pleased with at least two of these prizes. To be fair, she didn’t really need Obara or Nymeria they were extraneous anyway. It’s Tyene who is known for poisons, like the one that killed Myrcella. And its Ellaria who was the one who delivered that deadly kiss back at the end of Season 5.

HBO

Also, and this is something the show has sort of failed to emphasize in the last couple of seasons. Tyene is, at least in the books, Ellaria’s daughter by Oberyn. Obara and Nymeria are supposedto be the children ofotherlovers before her. The show seems to treat all three like full sisters, which kind of loses the impact, but the point is here that Tyene is supposed to be Ellaria’s only daughter. Just like Myrcella was Cersei’s only daughter.

You can see pretty quickly where this is going. Ellaria murdered Cersei’s only daughter, and made it so Jaime had to watch her die helplessly. Cersei is merely returning the favor. Sealed with a kiss.

HBO

Tyene, like her sisters last week, ironically dies by the only feature we know of her her weapon of choice, poison, thanks to Qyburn. And that was the end of the Sand Snakes.

Twitter Is Blowing Up Over Danys Iconic Speech On Game Of Thrones

Sunday’s new episode of gave fans a moment they’ve been waiting years to see:the Dragon Queen met Jon Snow at long last and definitely made an epic first impression.Daenerys Targaryen gave a speech onthat immediately became iconic.Spoiler alert: this post will discuss details in Season 7 Episode 3 ofThe Queen’s Justice.

When Jon Snow came to ask Daenerys’ help in fighting the White Walkers, she flew into an epic speech asking him to recognize her as rightful queen first. Of course, the fiery speech lit up Twitter.

Basically, Jon was coming down to Dragonstone to try to get the dragon glass to ward off the White Walkers, but Dany made it clear she’s only focused on getting the Iron Throne. When Jon refused to kneel before her, she gave him the laundry list of trials she’s had to endure up to this point, including being sold off in a Dothraki marriage, almost being killed as a newborn baby, and being sexually abused and assaulted time and time again.

All of these horrors led to Daenerys becoming the formidable queen she is today. She let Jon know she’s grown to have complete faith in herself, and her rightful place on the throne. Still, Jon refused to pledge his allegiance to her and couldn’t convince Dany the White Walkers are real.

Dany’s epic speech may not have moved Jon Snow, but it caused fans on Twitter to go wild. Check out some of the best reactions below.

Luckily for Jon, he has a sneaky ally in Dany’s right-hand man Tyrion. Later in the episode, the Lannister was able to convince Dany to let Jon mine the dragonglass and be on his way to fight his own battle in the north, while Dany focuses on taking the Iron Throne in the south.

Of course, the downside to this resolution is Dany and Jon are parting ways right after finally meeting. Let’s just hope they can team up again soon!

This Character Just Made It Home For the First Time In Years on ‘Game of Thrones’

This post contains spoilers from Game Of Thrones Season 7, Episode 3. As of the end of Season 7 Episode 2, as Jon departed Winterfell to sail for Dragonstone, two other Starks were turning their heads towardshome. At the top of the premiere, we saw Meera drag the sledge up to the gates of Castle Black and demand entry on their way south. This week the question was who got home first? Arya? Or would Bran and Meera arrive at Winterfell ahead of her and explain to Sansa what a Greenseer is on ?

Moreover, how would Sansa react to these arrivals? We assume that she and Arya seeing one another again will be something of a weepfest on Sansa’s end, because though Arya should be registered as a professional deadly weapon, as the younger sister she poses no threat to Sansa’s status as Lady of Winterfell. (This doesn’t mean Littlefinger won’t try to turn the sisters against each other down the road or anything. It just means that Sansa will have no reservations about letting Arya in.) But Bran is the male trueborn Stark. Technically, he outranks Sansa. Will that factor into his homecoming?

Apparently not! Sansa is all too happy to see her little brother home again, especially in light of how Rickon’s return went last season. Bran is much less moved by his arrival home, but that is more due to his newfound yogi-like inner calm that we got a taste of in the premiere.

HBO

Also? Shout out to Edd, who made up that glorious horse-drawn wagon he hooked Bran up with. Seriously y’all, the idea that Meera might have to drag his butt all the way home through the snow was so upsetting to me. Glad to see the Night’s Watch decided there was a horse to spare, and men to make him a nice ride.

As for any worries Sansa might have about Bran Stark being put in charge over her because patriarchy, his clear preference for the Godswood and his weir tree should hopefully ease any fears, and also help stave off any poisonous gossip from Littlefinger. He’s the Three Eyed Raven, and he’s going to babble on about the Long Night, and she’s not going to understand any of it.

HBO

Even if Littlefinger were to be so foolish, we’re pretty sure after Bran’s little display of greenseeing power, Sansa either wouldn’t be having it, or Bran would call her out if she did.How pretty she looked on her wedding night, indeed. (To be fair, I 100% agree with Bran’s fashion opinions here. Sansa Wedding Dress #2 totally outranked Sansa Wedding Dress #1. Both are outranked by Margaery Wedding Dress #1 though. Fight me.)

7 TrumpGame of Thrones comparisons that blur the line between fact and fiction

On Sunday night, millions of people will tune into the latest episode of HBOs Game of Thrones to watch the deadly wheeling and dealing in Westeros.

With all of the backstabbing, political machinations, and drama among allies and enemies on the hit television show, it is inevitable that Game of Throneswould be compared to the current drama unfolding in President Donald Trumps administration and the country at large.

When you think about it, there are some similarities: a wall meant to keep people out of a country, people turning a blind eye to significant issues, scheming in every level of government, fractions among even staunchest of alliesthe list is as long as winter itself. Here are some of the best.

1) ‘The hand of the king’

Larry OConnor, a guest and Mediaite contributing editor, told Fox Business it was lazy to compare Trumps administration to a reality show, adding that Game of Thrones was more apt.

With all of the shifting alliances and hidden agendasI think after six months Trump has had it, OConnor said, adding that Reince Priebus, Trumps then-chief of staff, was the hand of the king.

2) ‘Cruelty, corruption, betrayal, hypocrisy, snobbery, violence’

Even members of Congress couldnt resist the temptation of comparing Westeros to real life before the premiere of the seventh season of Game of Thrones.

Rep. Jamie Lannister Raskin (D-M.D.) had a fewchoice words to compare the Trump administration to the power players of the Seven Kingdoms.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) also got in on the fun.

3) ‘Secret deals with sworn enemies’

Yep, even theNew York Times ran a Game of Thrones/Trump comparisonin an opinion article, not a reporter (this is important to note, all you #FakeNews folks out there)that made some compelling points.

Heres how columnistMaureen Dowds piece opened:

Wicked siblings willing to do anything for power. Secret deals with sworn enemies. The shock of a dead body. A Wall. Foreign bawds, guns for hire, and snakes. Back-stabbing, betrayal and charges of treason. Little birds spying and tattling. A maniacal mad king and his court of scheming, self-absorbed princesses and princelings, swathed in the finest silk and the most brazen immorality, ruling with total disregard for the good of their people.

Sound familiar?

Washington Post foreign affairs writerIshaan Tharoor also saw parallels betweenTrump and the characters ofGame of Thrones:

Trump, it can be argued, is also an archetypicalmember of the Lannisterfamily: weaned on great wealth and driven by the single-minded goal of boosting his family name. Or you could say that his apocalyptic view of the worldis similar to thezeal ofthe cult of the Red God. For Trump, who sees a mess in every issue and chaos lurking behind every corner, the night is truly dark and full of terrorsand, incidentally, he seeks to expunge America’s enemieswith fire.

4) ‘Petulant and irrational’

Fans of both the book series and TV show have long cracked jokes about Trump mirroring the teenage tyrant King Joffreybut A Song of Ice and Fire authorGeorge R.R. Martin, the series’ visionary and co-executive producer, made it clear: The comparisons are correct.

I think Joffrey is now the king in America, Martintold Esquire in May. And hes grown up just as petulant and irrational as he was when he was 13 in the books.

5) ‘The real world surprises more and terrifies more than the fictional world’

Pilou Asbk, who plays Game of ThronesvillainEuron Greyjoy, was asked by Variety about comparisons that have been made between his characterwho makes grand claims to convince his fellow Iron Born that he is the only leader who can lead them to gloryand Trump.

Asbk clearly didnt want to make any direct comparisons between his character and Trump, but he had some interesting things to say.

One is a fictional world and one is the real world. Again and again the real world surprises more and terrifies more than the fictional world. To compare Euron Greyjoy to the American president, its tough. I did it once in a tweet a year ago. It was a tweet I did for fun. But now the world has changed a lot. Im not a wise man on the American political situation. I just hope the American people are happy. So Im not going to compare Euron to Donald Trump. Im just going to wish you guys luck.

6) ‘Winter is Trumping’

Besides masterfully weaving Trump quotes into some of the major moments of the show, the video is able to touch on Trumps favorite themes like immigration, loyalty, a border wall, and his own image.

Seriously, just watch it.

7) The Twitter jokes are coming

As you can imagine, everyone on Twitter seems to have their own Game of Thrones/Trump metaphor or joke. Here are just a few funny ones:

Not everyone seems to think Game of Thrones is the best comparison though

Daenerys told Jon Snow she was the ‘last Targaryen’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ laughed and laughed

Image: hbo

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen finally met during tonight’s episode of Game of Thrones and we still have a bunch of questions about their lineage.

During a big, posturing speech, in which Dany presents herself to the King of the North, she lays out her whole claim to the Iron Throne of Westeros and demands that he kneel before her. At the end of her speech, she lays out one fact that she might believe, but fans are less than convinced.

“I am the last Targaryen,” she proclaimed.

Wellllllll………….. Here’s the thing.

As it was (finally) revealed last season, Jon Snow appears to be more than a normal bastard, rather, he’s the son of Ned Stark’s sister Lyanna and her lover/captor Rhaegar Targaryen.

Unless, the show is blatantly deceiving us, Jon Snow joins Dany as one of the two last Targaryens in the known world.

So, when Dany made her stark declaration, Twitter pulled its collar to let some steam out.

Two Siblings Just Reunited After Years Apart On ‘Game Of Thrones’

WARNING: Spoilers below for Game of Thrones Season 7!

A lone wolf died er, metaphorically so lets hope the pack can survive.

Game of Thrones Episode 3, The Queens Justice, gave us a reunion weve been waiting five long seasons to see when Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Sansa (Sophie Turner) met at Winterfell.

Gee, how times have changed since they said their last farewell.Time is a tricky thing on Game of Thrones, but consensus is that a few years have transpired between Seasons 1 and 7.

When Sansa left for Kings Landing with her father, Ned Stark (Sean Bean), Bran had recently fallen from the walls of the family home or rather, been pushed from the window after stumbling across an incestuous relationship between Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). The young Stark was still unconscious, so he and his sisters, Sansa and Arya (Maisie Williams), never said the goodbye they deserved.

Of course, Bran soon woke up, and, over the course of six seasons, he ceded Winterfell to Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), escaped, met the Reeds, parted with his brother Rickon (Art Parkinson), ventured beyond the Wall, met the Three-Eyed Raven (Max Von Sydow), became a Three-Eyed Raven, lost a couple of dear friends, encountered his undead uncle, learned the truth about Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and … thats the gist of it.

Sansa, meanwhile, rode on down to Kings Landing with her father and sister, where she encountered horrors of her own. After witnessing her fathers beheading and losing track of her sister, Sansa was kept as a prisoner of the Lannister-helmed capitol, married to Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and convinced to join Littlefingers (Aiden Gillen) escape plot. One stopover in the Vale later, Sansa was married again to Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon), whom she famously allowed to be eaten by a pack of dogs after retaking Winterfell with the help of Jon.

Although she once thought Bran to be dead killed by Theon in his coup attempt Sansa learned that was not the case in Season 5, informed of her brothers escape by Theon himself.

Finally, in Season 7, Episode 3, the eldest daughter of House Stark laid eyes on her younger brother, who is technically the rightful Lord of Winterfell, after answering an urgent call to the gate. The pair later retreated to the godswood, where Bran wasted no time thoroughly creeping out his sister with information he shouldnt know: details of her wedding night to Ramsay. In his mind, Bran is not fit to serve as the head of the northern holdfast which isnt terrible, since his sister was just previously seen demonstrating her aptitude for managing the castle.

Cryptically,Bran also told Sansa he needed to speak with Jon, setting up a parentage revelation that will likely rock Westeros. Last season, fans learned through Brans storyline that Jon wasnt the product of Ned Stark and a mysterious lowborn woman, but Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, Neds sister.

Way back in Episode 2 of Season 1, Ned promised to have a chat with Jon about his mother when he returned from Kings Landing. That never happened. Now, Bran will get to fill his fathers shoes.

When that will happen we can only guess, but with four more episodes left in the penultimate season, the clock is ticking.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

‘Game of Thrones’ gives fans a meeting two decades in the making

(CNN)Warning: Spoiler alert for Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones”

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen came face to face on Sunday night’s episode of the HBO fantasy series giving fans a meeting that some have been waiting for since George R.R. Martin’s book, “A Game of Thrones” was published in 1996.
Snow, played by Kit Harington, walked onto the island of Dragonstone on Sunday’s episode to meet Daenerys, played by Emilia Clarke, for the first time.
Fans on social media couldn’t contain their excitement.
“I FEEL ALIVE!!!” Jarett Wieselman, a senior entertainment editor for BuzzFeed News, tweeted alongside a photo of the two characters.
For some, Daenerys and Snow represent the entire series itself.
Martin named the book saga, “The Song of Ice and Fire,” and many fans feel that the two characters represent those elements with the northern Snow being ice and the dragon riding Daenerys being fire.
Sunday’s meeting saw Daenerys request that Snow bend the knee to show his alliance to her as the rightful queen of Westeros.
    Alas, Snow had other plans.
“I need your help and you need mine,” Snow said, telling Daenerys he needs her to help fight off the coming threat of Whitewalkers — a horde of undead.
Away from the tense back and forth, some online found it funny that Daenerys proclaimed herself to be the “last Targaryen” — an ironic statement since fans found out last season that Snow himself has Targaryen blood.
Ultimately Daenerys didn’t allow Snow to leave the island, which gave viewers more time between the two as well as some great scenes between Harington and another fan favorite, Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion Lannister.
The meeting of the two characters came to a close on Sunday with Daenerys allowing Snow to mine dragonglass, a rare element, from the island in order to use it as weapons against the impending threat of Whitewalkers.
However, the previews for next week’s episode showed that while this was the first encounter of Snow and Daenerys, it won’t be the last.
(HBO, like CNN, is owned by Time Warner.)

Can Humans Kill Dragons On ‘Game Of Thrones’? Here’s What We Know

In episode 2 of Season 7, Qyburn revealed to Cersei Lannister that his minions had been working on the middle ages style version of an anti air-dragon missile ahead of facing Daenerys Targaryen. (Otherwise known as a Very Large Crossbow.) But is that how you kill a dragon in the world of Westeros? Can humans kill dragons on ?

The good news for Cersei: The answer is yes. Humans have killed dragons before. The good news for Dany: The answer is not very often. When we go back through Martin’s histories of dragon-based battles in Westeros during the early Targaryen period, we find that far more dragons have died via dragon-on-dragon violence than via anything humans have been able to cook up.

In truth, the thing that killed the most dragons at any one time was the Doom of Valyria, where the ring of volcanoes that ran through the peninsula all erupted at once. Prior to the Doom, dragons numbered in the hundreds across that part of Essos. After the Doom was over, there were only five left living on Dragonstone with the Targaryen clan, and they were an essential part of their conquest of Westeros.

There were 27 dragons who were recorded to have lived during the 150 or so year period from the Targaryen conquest to153 AC when the final dragon died out. Of these 27, only nine died of natural causes. The other 18 were all killed in battle. Of those 18, ten were killed by their own kin.

That leaves only eight dragons who have been killed by humans:

In terms of Qyburn’s idea then, this is not the worst thing he’s come up with. Two of the eight dragons listed here died via crossbolts, though neither of a size he’s working on. Instead, it’s either been due to the sheer volume or a lucky shot.

But what Dany should probably fear more is the deaths of those other five, more than half the list. Now, her dragons are not chained up helpless like three of these dragons were. (In fact, this is more argument that she should never do what she did in Meereen toViserion and Rhaegal ever again.) But this is proof that sheer numbers of angry frightened violent humans are as dangerous to dragons as a crossbolt, and a wounded dragon crashing down in the center of a Lannister army would be at their mercy.

    Let’s hope she flies carefully.

New ‘Game of Thrones’ photos tease a royal meeting

Warning: This article contains minor spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7.

After seven years of waiting, Game of Thrones will finally put Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen together in the same room, and the newest batch of photos from HBO does plenty to ramp up anticipation.

Most of the photos come from Dragonstone, which capture Jon and Davos Seaworths arrival on the Targaryen-held island. What appears to be Tyriona familiar and friendly face for Jonand likely a few Dothraki fighters greet the partyon the shore.

Is Varys prepping Dany on key details she should know ahead of receiving Jon?

    Photo via Helen Sloan/HBO

It looks like at some point during the episode, Varys and Melisandre will converse among themselves in what will probably be a layered and mysterious conversationthat’s away from prying eyes and ears. If this takes place around when Dany speaks with Jon and Davos, its probably for the better.

    Photo via Helen Sloan/HBO

And while we dont see obvious images of the meeting, these photos could very well be from it. Jon and Davos stand before Dany (after being led in by Tyrion and Missandei, according to this weeks preview) while she sits on her throne.

    Photo via Helen Sloan/HBO

    Photo via Helen Sloan/HBO

Its possible that Grey Worm, aftersaying goodbye to Missandei, is in Dragonstone, but its more likely that hes in or on his way to Casterly Rock, the Lannister stronghold where Dany and Tyrion planned to send the Unsullied soldiers in Stormborn. The preview showed a skirmish taking place in a courtyard with an archway marked with the letter L, and the color appears to match the background of Grey Worms closeup.

    Photo via Helen Sloan/HBO

Meanwhile in the north, Sansathe newly appointed Lady of Winterfelland Petyr Baelish walk throughthe castles courtyard. After Jon blatantly threatened him last week, any semblance of a smirk from Littlefinger now that Jon is out of the picture for the time being probably isnt a good thing.

‘Game of Thrones’ board game successfully funded in less than an hour

    Image: Cmon

One day after its campaign launched on Kickstarter, a Game of Thrones-inspired board game has already received more than 200% of its fundraising goal.

A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game launched on Kickstarter Tuesday, combining George R.R. Martin’s fantasy world with tactical tabletop board gaming and paintable miniatures. The project asked for $300,000 to produce the board game and reached its goal in less than an hour. At the time of reporting, the project has earned over $630,000 in pledges.

The board game pits players against each other as the North (the Starks and their allies) and the South (the Lannisters and their allies) in tactical warfare in what looks like a mix between Stratego, Risk, and role-playing games, but with added elements of political intrigue.

Here’s a glimpse at what the finished product will look like:

Instead of pulling from the popular HBO show Game of Thrones, the board game is taking a page out of the original book series: A Song of Ice and Fire. There are even different kinds of game modes named after the books, with each slightly changing the rules and focusing on stand-out elements from those books.

For the first book, A Game of Thrones, players fight for control over points that offer unique benefits. For the sequel, A Clash of Kings, one player sets up a defensive position and the other player has to stage a siege.

There appear to be a wide range of miniatures, from lowly foot soldiers to series staples like Jaime Lannister, Robb Stark, and Gregor Clegane, a.k.a. The Mountain. At different stretch goals (many of which have already been reached), more character miniatures will be included for everyone.

The base-level pledge costs $150, which includes the game and all stretch goals. At the time of reporting, over 4,100 people have pledged $150 or more.

The company behind the game, CMON, has successfully created a handful of board games and card games in the past, including a recent Bloodborne card game, Cthulu in the House, and Wrath of Kings.

A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game is expected to ship to backers in April 2018.

This ‘Game Of Thrones’ Theory About Daenerys & Melisandre Makes Too Much Sense

This Sunday’s episode of is finally going to give fans the meet-up we’ve been waiting seven seasons for, but a new fan theory is making a convincing case the Daenerys-Jon Snow meeting will be more interesting because of a couple of side characters reuniting at the same time. ADaenerys and Melisandre theoryhas popped up, pointing out viewers should actually be more interested in how the Red Priestessand Jon’s travel companion Ser Davos will interact when they see one another again.

As one Redditor reminded us, Davos and Melisandre don’t exactly get along to put it lightly. Since photos from the upcoming third episode show Jon and Davos arriving at Dragonstone to meet Dany, and we already saw Melisandre is cozying up next to the Dragon Queen, it’s pretty safe to assume there will be a blow-up when Davos once again sees the woman who led his old bestie Stannis Baratheon to ruin.

Specifically, Reddit user trimeta predicts Davos has a pretty good chance of turning Daenerys against Melisandre. Obviously, the most grievous thing Melisandre has done is convince Stannis to kill his own daughter Shireen, and Davos might bring that up to Daenerys. The real interesting aspect comes up when you remember back in Season 1, Daenerys sacrificed her own unborn child in a similar magical ritual in order to save Khal Drogo. This parallel might just be the thing to ally Dany with Davos and Jon against Melisandre.

    Reddit

There is a bit of a snag to this theory in the episode three preview photos, though. The new pics show Jon, Davos, and Daenerys all together in the Dragonstone throne room, but Melisandre is outside with Varys in a photo. If she knew Davos was on his way, it’s pretty likely that she would be hiding from him, so the two may not actually reunite in the new episode after all.

    HBO

But still, now that Davos and Melisandre are both going to be in the Daenerys camp, she can’t avoid him forever, and it’s bound to be a huge blow-up when they come face-to-face again. How Daenerys reacts to their eventual dispute is going to solidify the final alliance she moves forward with.

Game Of Thrones Hot Pie Opens Real Bakery Called You Know Nothing John Dough And Guess What Hes Making

Fans are nervous about a ‘Game of Thrones’ death that is probably coming this week

    Image: hbo

Bad things happen to good people on Game of Thrones, so when a good thing happens, it can only mean one thing: Death approaches.

Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) experienced one of the few joyful moments of an extremely difficult life on Sunday when he and Missandei finally consummated their love so, naturally, fans are terrified he’s going to die.

The outlook was already bleak for our Unsullied leader. At the outset of “Stormborn,” Daenerys and Tyrion lay out their battle plan, and it sends Grey Worm and his troops to capture the Lannisters’ Casterly Rock. Missandei goes to see him that night, to wish him well and in hopes that he will confess his true feelings.

Eventually, he does, and we know what happens next.

Other characters who died shortly after fleeting happiness:

    – Robb, Talisa, and Catelyn Stark
    – Ygritte
    – Oberyn Martell
    – Mycah, the butcher’s boy
    – That slave owner in Astapor who got burned to a crisp

Ever since the show moved past George R.R. Martin’s books, Game of Thrones has gotten heavy-handed with the foreshadowing, which diminishes the effect of major plot twists. Giving Grey Worm a night of bliss with the love of his life is almost certainly a joint sign-off on his death from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

We know from photos of episode 3 that Grey Worm is off on his mission, suited up and ready to defend Daenerys to the death. Is this the end for our fearless, loyal Unsullied leader? Maybe he’ll survive by a hair, or maybe the Lannisters will be ready to defend their home. Maybe we’ll light a bunch of candles and prepare some sad music…just in case.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Sues Former Manager Over Alleged Deception

Billy Eichner is joining ‘American Horror Story’ to wear ‘mysterious tank tops’ and hang with Sarah Paulson

Billy Eichner is perhaps best known for startling random pedestrians, so it makes sense that he’d want to channel his scare tactics into an actual horror show.

Mashable has confirmed that Eichner has been cast in Season 7 of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story franchise, which begins filming this May.

Eichner’s role is a closely-guarded secret, as with all things AHS, but Deadline reports that he’ll play a close confidant of Sarah Paulson’s character, and “mostly will be wearing mysterious tank tops,” whatever that means. Do the tank tops lurk enigmatically in shadowy alleyways while wearing a fedora? Do they know Billy Eichner’s secrets? Only time will tell!

So far, Paulson and Evan Peters are the only stars from Murphy’s AHS troupe that are confirmed to be returning, and while plot details are scarce, Murphy previously revealed that Season 7 “is going to be about the election that we just went through.” So, basically the most terrifying season yet.

On the subject of Season 7, Murphy recently told THR, “what Im interested in doing is not just the obvious, single-minded point of view but rather express all sides of that equation. What needs to happen in our country now is for people to listen to each other we may not always agree with each other and we may be horrified by what the other side is doing but we have to move toward understanding.”

American Horror Story has been renewed through Season 9, with Season 7 set to debut this fall.

5 Things To Keep In Mind About Joffrey On ‘Game Of Thrones’ While You Watch Season 7

The last three seasons ofhave been so blessed Joffrey-free, it’s easy to forget that evil child existed in the first place. But exist Joffrey Baratheon did, as well as die. But I assume you’ve done your best to block this tiny sociopath from your memory the way I have, so here’s a quick refresher on who Joffrey was and how Joffrey died on

    1. He’s the reason Arya lost Nymeria.

Back in Season 1, Nymeria protected Arya from Joffrey by attacking him. Joffrey lies about the incident and says he was attacked on provoked and calls for the death of Nymeria. Arya is forced to have Nymeria run away and Joffrey kills Sansa’s direwolf instead. Apart from just being a d*ck move that is indicative of his d*ckishness, this information may be important to remember now that Nymeria returned in last week’s episode.

    2. He was engaged to both Sansa Stark and Margaery Tyrell.

You probably remember this at least, but it’s good to keep in mind how well these two women both knew him especially considering Sansa’s comment to Jon Snow in the Season 7 premiere.

    3. He died of asphyxiation from a poisoned goblet of wine.

At a long and tense wedding reception for Joffrey and Margaery (who got married), Joffrey spends most of the evening tormenting his uncle Tyrion. At one point, while Joffrey is eating his wedding pie, he orders Tyrion to bring him his wine. Tyrion does, Joffrey drinks, and then starts choking and vomiting and bleeding from his nose. Joffrey dies in his mother Cersei’s arms, and his last act is to point an accusing finger at Tyrion.

    4. It wasn’t Tyrion who poisoned Joffrey.

    HBO

Though Cersei immediately accuses Tyrion for murdering her son, and though Tyrion gets arrested for it, he was not actually the one who poisoned Joffrey. Nope, it was matriarch Olenna Tyrell who did the deed, in order to protect her granddaughter Margaery from Joffrey’s abusive nature. She had some help fromPetyr Baelish and Dontos Hollard, who gave her the poison.

    5. He never controlled all seven kingdoms.

Though Joffrey did sit on the Iron Throne for quite a while, he did not ever rule all seven kingdoms. Shortly after the Red Wedding in Season 3 and 4, he did have control over the North and Riverlands, but Stannis always denied Joffrey’s rule in Dragonstone, and Joffrey never had any control over the Iron Islands. So a true king or queen of the seven kingdoms is still to come perhaps someone with dragons?

How Cerseis next move could seal her fate on Game of Thrones

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones season 7.

Apreview for Game of Thronesepisode 3 showsEuron Greyjoys triumphant return to Kings Landing, complete with his gift in tow, but it could set in motion events that’ll look disturbinglyfamiliar to some in Westeros.

Before the climactic battle at the end of Stormborn, which resulted in Euron andhis men taking Ellaria Sand, Tyene Sand, and (probably) Yara Greyjoy prisoner, Game of Thrones reminded the audience of a few important things they may have forgotten along the way.

    1. Ellaria is responsible for murdering Myrcella Baratheon, something Tyrion Lannister was still quite sour about.
    2. Although all of the Sand Snakes were bastard daughters of Oberyn Martell, Tyene is the only one who called Ellaria Mama.
    3. Sansa Stark invoked her and Jons grandfather Rickard Stark to point to how Daenerys Targaryens invitation to Dragonstone could be a trap.

Have you forgotten what happened to our grandfather? Sansa asked Jon. The Mad King invited him to Kings Landing and roasted him alive.

The execution of Rickard Stark and his eldest son Brandon at the orders of King Aerys II Targaryen happened before either Jon or Sansa were born, but it was an importantpointin Westerosi history.Apart from Rhaegar Targaryen kidnapping or running away with Lyanna Stark, its the single biggest event that led to Roberts Rebellion and the end of the Targaryen reign.

They didnt deserve to die like that

Rickard and Brandon Stark have been name-dropped a handful of times and alluded to throughout Game of Thrones, but A Song of Ice and Fire reveals more detail from someone who witnessed it.

Brandon Stark, who previously bested Petyr Baelish in a duel for Catelyn Tully after Brandon became betrothed to her, was on his way to Riverrun for his wedding when he heard about his sister Lyannas disappearance. Arriving in Kings Landing, Brandon furiously demanded that Rhaegar come out and die, but instead Aerys had him arrested and asked Rickard to come to Kings Landing and answer for his sons crimes.

According to Jaime Lannister in A Clash of Kings, Rickard demanded a trial by combat. Aerys unsportingly chose fire as his champion (instead of an actual person) and suspended Rickard with fire burning beneath him. To make matters worse, as Rickard burned alive, Brandonwho had a noose around his neckstrangled himself attempting to reach a sword that couldve saved his father. As they both died, Jaime and hundreds others witnessed it without doing a thing. (In their defense, Aerys was pretty unhinged at that point, and likely would have killed any detractors.)

Jaime relayed part of this story to Ned in season 1, calling both Brandon and Rickard brave and that they didnt deserve to die like that. Jaime also noted that when he eventually killed Aerys his mind went back to the day he saw Brandon and Rickard die. (Ser Barristan Selmy, who alluded to the event in season 5, may have also been present.)

    • Who is Azor Ahai, the prophesied savior of ‘Game of Thrones’?
    • Everything revealed so far about George R.R. Martins The Winds of Winter
    • Five hundred men just stood there and watched, Jaime said. All the great knights of the Seven Kingdoms. You think anyone said a word, lifted a finger? No, Lord Stark. Five hundred men and this room was silent as a crypt. Except for the screams, of course, and the Mad King laughing.

While those men didn’t do anything to save the Starks at the time, the whole event did play a significant role in convincing the lords of Westeros to overthrow Aerys. It never made it to television, butGame of Thrones filmed Rickard and Brandons deaths. A brief clip of it is seen in a pre-season 1 Game of Thrones trailer, which Game of Thrones producer and writer Bryan Cogman confirmed was meant to be in the shows second episode.

While Brandon has yet to appear at all in Game of Thrones, Rickard showed up briefly in season 6s The Door as he said goodbye to Ned before he left for the Vale.

      Will the Mad Queen emerge?

Theres little-to-no chance that Ellaria and Tyene Sand are getting out of Kings Landing alive after Euron brings them in, so the question of their fate is more along the lines of, how will they die? And how cruel and painful will it be?

Ellaria is directly responsible for murderingCersei Lannisters only daughter, Myrcella. Tyene has committed murder and played a part in the coup of Dorne, but her main crime here is siding with Daenerys Targaryen; to be honest, Cersei probably doesn’tcare too much about Bronn being poisoned. Cersei could have one of them killed, both of them killed, or hold one hostage under the threat of death unless the other convincesDorne to align with Kings Landing. We suspectCersei will reveal some maniacalplan, given that the episode iscalled The Queens Justice.

But how she goes about it could also lead to Cerseis downfall.

If Cerseis punishment for the Sands is especially cruel, it could possibly remind Jamieof what he once witnessed in the throne room. Cersei has always had a violentstreak. Now that she’s hardenedby grief and her reign is under threat, the Sands could feel the full force of her wrath.

One redditor believesthe sentence will involve making Ellaria watch Tyene die, while Manu Mishra suggests that Cerseis torture of both Ellaria and Tyene may be the breaking point. Its unclear if Jaime knows about Cersei setting the Mountain on Septa Unella last season, but his uneasy look after seeing her being crowned on the Iron Throne speaks volumes.

      Cersei’s prophecy

After all these years, Cersei still remembers the prophecy Maggy the Frog told her: that she would marry the king, that she would have three children who would all die before her, and that a younger and more beautiful queen would cast her down. The show doesnt mention it, but in the books Maggy tells Cersei that she will die at the hands of the valonqar, or little brother. That explains part of why she hates Tyrion so much, but Jaime, whos the younger twin, also fits the bill.

Cersei married the king, and all of her children are dead. Shes now in power trying to stop the other queen from striking her down. What she might not anticipate, though, is the man she loves again making thedifficult choice between serving a ruler he swore to protect or killing the ruler to ultimately save the Seven Kingdoms. If Rickard and Brandons deaths come back to Jaimes mind when Cersei deals her “justice” forEllaria and Tyene, Jaime might be prompted to think, What wont she do to stay in power?
