Popular ‘Game Of Thrones’ Theory Has One Problem, Says Jaime Lannister

With the Game of Thrones endgame near, we thought we had it figured out. Now Jaime Lannister is here to say, Oh hell Snow.

After Cersei Lannister blew up Kings Landing in the Game of Thrones Season 6 finale, and Jaime shot her that cold look, it seemed like things were already written. The ink was dry.

Jaime will kill Cersei.

It makes sense.

The pair have always had a conflicted relationship. Theyre siblings; Theyre lovers. Now, shes burned a whole bunch of people alive and the reason Jaime became the Kingslayer in the first place was to stop King Aerys from burning people alive.

Its complicated. But its a popular theory.

There are dozens of posts in forums and stories online listing all the evidence for why Jaime will kill Cersei.

Theres also a prophecy about Cersei in George R.R. Martins A Song of Ice and Fire novels, the inspiration for Game of Thrones. We got an abbreviated version of it in the Season 5 premiere, but a part from the book that got cut out of the show reads, The valonqar shall wrap his hands about your pale white throat and choke the life from you.

Valonqar is said to be High Valyrian for little brother.

It all seems to work out perfectly that Jaime would be the one to take down Cersei a little too perfectly if you ask Jaime himself, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

The Huffington Post recently talked to Coster-Waldau about a variety of topics, including being a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador and his partnership with Google Street View to raise awareness on climate change, since winter is coming. We also asked about the idea that Jaime could kill Cersei.

Its a theory but it has a beautiful, romantic, tragic thing [to it], Coster-Waldau said before adding, Its probably too obvious.

Cer-say what!?

The actor said that, ultimately, he had no ideahow it would all turn out.

If thats true, and Coster-Waldau doesnt know, we can probably count on Cersei surviving through Season 7. Filming on the season is wrapping.

But is Jaime killing Cersei really too obvious?

In Martins books, Tyrion complains, Prophecy is like a half-trained mule. It looks as though it might be useful, but the moment you trust in it, it kicks you in the head.

If were not buying that the prophecy is about Jaime, there are some other possibilities. (After all, the prophecy says the valonqar will wrap his hands around Cerseis throat. Last time we checked, Jaime had just one.)

Tyrion is another choice to cause Cerseis demise, but hes obvious, too.

Hes also Cerseis younger sibling and clearly doesnt see eye-to-eye with her, especially since she tried to have him executed for Joffreys murder.

That put a damper on the relationship.

Another strong possibility is Sansa. As weve said, the shows version of Cerseis prophecy is abbreviated, but it does mention that someone will come to destroy her.

Youll be queen for a time. Then comes another younger, more beautiful to cast you down and take all you hold dear.

With Margaery now gone (R.I.P., Marg), Sansa is a leading candidate to fit the prediction of the younger, more beautiful person to take down Cersei.

Perhaps instead of little brother, the valonqar is actually a little dove, aka Cerseis nickname for Sansa.

The culprits could also be Arya, whom actress Lena Headey said she wants to take down Cersei, or Dany because, duh, shes the Mother of Dragons.

Or, as theorized by many,Jaime could kill Cersei. Like Coster-Waldau admitted, at this point, he doesnt even know.

Will Jaime go from Kingslayer to kin-slayer?

Cersei did kill all those people, and Jaime, like all Lannisters, always pays his debts.

This is what it’s like to die on ‘Game of Thrones’

Anyone who’s seen Game of Thrones will know that the phrase “All men must die” isn’t just restricted to men. Margaery Tyrell, who went out in a blaze of green glory in the Season 6 finale, is just one of the show’s latest victims.

We caught up with Natalie Dormer during promotion for Mass Effect: Andromeda, and asked her about her GoT character’s fiery demise.

“She went out with a bang, didn’t she?” replied Dormer. “She went out with a bang.

“And you’ve got to give credit to Dan and David, the creators of the show they just keep coming up with new ways of killing people.”

The One ‘Game Of Thrones’ Theory You’ve Been Overlooking

If you thought Game of Thrones would come down to Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, the real players may have you wrapped around their littlefinger.

While weve all been paying attention to dragons (because theyre awesome) and White Walkers (because were waiting for the dragons to come back on screen), the actual battle for Westeros is likely taking place in the background.

Recently, The Huffington Post spoke withConleth Hill, the actor who plays Varys on the HBO series, and asked him if perhaps weve all been paying attention to the wrong characters. Are Varys and Littlefinger the ones to watch?

Very interesting question, he said, before teasing a possible meetup in Season 7. I can tell you that I loved working with Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger), and I can tell you that its possible we work together again, he said, adding, But not definite.

Though Hill gets cheeky at the end of his comments, a meetup is almost certainly happening. The two are basically on a collision course, with each playing the role of a master puppeteer.

While Game of Thrones theories aboutJon Snows true parentsand Tyrion being a Targaryencapture our attention, one that says the game will actually come down toVarys vs. Littlefingerkeeps making more sense.

Remember, Littlefinger is the catalyst for the whole story. After convincing Lysa Arryn to kill her husband and Hand of the King, Jon Arryn, things were set in motion and Ned Stark was called to Kings Landing. Littlefinger has been gaining more and more power ever since.

Now, hes Lord Protector of the Vale and showed up at the last minute to help Jon Snows army defeat the Boltons in Season 6. Though were led to believe Sansas letter got him to come to the rescue, its likely that Littlefinger wouldve shown up to the Battle of the Bastards to finish off Ramsay, anyway.

The guy wants a united North backing him, and he would never have that with the Boltons in power.

Varys has quietly made his own moves to put Dany in power, as Redditor gmnitsualays out:

He conspired with Illyrio to get Daenerys married to Khal Drogo. Varys conspired with him to get her dragon eggs. Varys conspired with Jorah from the beginning. To me, a lot of her success is owed to Varys.

He also got Tyrion to be Danys advisor. Varys originally testified against Tyrion after Joffreys murder only to free him and whisk him away to counsel Dany. Then, he shows up in Dorne to get the Tyrells and Sand Snakes on the Mother of Dragons side. Dudes been busy.

Now Varys is with Danys fleet heading to Westeros, and Littlefinger is putting doubt in Sansas head as Jon Snow becomes King in the North.

George R.R. Martins book series that inspired Game of Thrones is called A Song of Ice and Fire. With Dany, Varys is controlling the fire. With the Starks, Littlefinger is trying to control the ice.

Winter is coming, peeps. Aw hells Snow.

We May Know The ‘Huge Cliffhanger’ Coming In ‘Game Of Thrones’

A huge cliffhanger is coming …

In a recent interview withTime Outfor Netflixs iBoy, Maisie Williams described Season 7 of Game of Thrones by saying, Its just kind of tumbling now.

The actress continued:

Weve come to the climax and its rolling down to the end. Its exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season everything was set up for how it was going to end. Every character came to a little junction in their lives. Now were all going to crash down together to however this show ends.

Williams says fans can expect a huge cliffhanger on the way, though we may already know what that is.

A number of Game of Thrones leaks came out late last year on Reddit. Usually supposed leaks hit the internet and one can quickly dismiss them, but these leaks have gradually been getting confirmed.

Warning: Potential spoilers ahead.

One of those leaks posited that the season ends on a pretty major cliffhanger, just like Williams teased.

The Wall will fall at the end of the season, while Jon and Dany have sex.

Wow. Just as Khaleesi supposedly Winter-falls into your arms, the Wall will come crashing down. You know nothing about romance, Jon Snow.

As more proof that the teased cliffhanger is the Wall coming down, remember Williams verbiage as she described the season: Its all tumbling now. The cast is going to crash down together.

Its doubtful Williams intentionally peppered in words that hint at the ending.

(The actress already went on record saying people who leak spoilers from Game of Thrones are sad. A girl hates it.)

But it all fits kind of perfectly, and as the United States Postal Service says, If it fits, it ships.Or in Jon and Danys case, if their relationship fits, well ship.
