Game of Thrones season seven trailer: winter has arrived

Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister are all still watching the throne in the latest teaser trailer for the seventh and penultimate season of Game of Thrones.

In a promo called Long Walk, the trio are seen strolling towards different grand chairs as a cover version of Jamess 90s hit Sit Down plays in the background.

Snow is seen walking through the halls of Winterfell, Cersei strolls through Kings Landing, while Daenerys Targaryen is apparently in her ancestral home of Dragonstone.

The trailer is the second brief peek into the world of Westeros following another teaser, which suggested dark times were ahead for the different clans.

As in that trailer, amid the dark predictions about the great war and talk of revenge, the blue eye of what appears to be the Night King, the leader of the White Walkers, slowly appears in the background, alluding to the conflict that has been referenced since the very first season.

With only two seasons left, the show-runner David Benioff said earlier this year that the show is definitely heading into the endgame now.

Few details have been revealed about the new season, which will premiere in the US on 16 July, but two guest stars have been confirmed. The Oscar winner Jim Broadbent will join the cast as an archmaester, as will the chart-dominating pop star Ed Sheeran, who will make a cameo in the fantasy drama.

The National singer joined the ‘Game of Thrones’ concert tour to perform ‘Rains of Castamere’

For more than a month now, Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi has been traveling across the U.S. and Canada as part of a 28-city Game of Thrones concert tour. While he has a small group of musicians who travel with him along with a new orchestra every night, a recent show featured a special guest whose voice many fans will recognize.

During many of the concerts, Djawadi and his orchestra performed The Rains of Castamere with Stevvi Alexander on vocals, before airing the Red Wedding scene in its entirety. But at his Las Vegas stop the Nationals Matt Berningerwhose rendition of the Lannister tune played during the credits of season 2s Blackwatercame to the stage. Berningers version struck a chord back then as it played in the backdrop of the Lannisters victory, warning us of what the Lannisters were capable of, and its just as haunting even now.

Hes not the only guest singer who came out to perform The Rains of Castamere. A few days ago, System of a Downs Serj Tankian took the stage.

Croon as they might, Berninger and Tankian are at least uninvolved in the bloodshed aheadunlike a certain Coldplay drummer.

Billy Eichner is joining ‘American Horror Story’ to wear ‘mysterious tank tops’ and hang with Sarah Paulson

Billy Eichner is perhaps best known for startling random pedestrians, so it makes sense that he’d want to channel his scare tactics into an actual horror show.

Mashable has confirmed that Eichner has been cast in Season 7 of Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story franchise, which begins filming this May.

Eichner’s role is a closely-guarded secret, as with all things AHS, but Deadline reports that he’ll play a close confidant of Sarah Paulson’s character, and “mostly will be wearing mysterious tank tops,” whatever that means. Do the tank tops lurk enigmatically in shadowy alleyways while wearing a fedora? Do they know Billy Eichner’s secrets? Only time will tell!

So far, Paulson and Evan Peters are the only stars from Murphy’s AHS troupe that are confirmed to be returning, and while plot details are scarce, Murphy previously revealed that Season 7 “is going to be about the election that we just went through.” So, basically the most terrifying season yet.

On the subject of Season 7, Murphy recently told THR, “what Im interested in doing is not just the obvious, single-minded point of view but rather express all sides of that equation. What needs to happen in our country now is for people to listen to each other we may not always agree with each other and we may be horrified by what the other side is doing but we have to move toward understanding.”

American Horror Story has been renewed through Season 9, with Season 7 set to debut this fall.

Someone created ‘Game of Thrones’ Red Keep with Lego

Weve seen plenty of impressive Lego builds bring fictional castles and buildings to life, but the upgrade to the home of Game of Thrones Iron Throne might just be the most impressive yet.

Bricks Creations Claus-Marc Hahn used 125,000 Lego blocks and spent approximately 800 hours building the Red Keep, and it might have a leg up on the original. While Aegon the Conquerors version is a lot bigger in scale, Hahns rendition of the Red Keep moves with the help of four EV3 motors.

It almost reminds us of a certain shows opening credits.

Hahn originally shared a videoof his latest masterpiece on his YouTube channel on March 19, but it spread after Beyond the Bricks reshared it over the weekend. And as the video demonstrates, the castle is only the beginning as plenty of familiar Game of Thrones characters are visible within the creation.

Winter is coming home in the ‘Game of Thrones’ board game

When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. Or you just reset the game board and play again.

A Song of Ice and Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game adapts George R.R. Martin’s enormously popular series of novels into a game you can play at home. Using the books as a springboard, players participate in their own bloody struggles for control of the Seven Kingdoms.

The initial game which heads to Kickstarter later this year, with a retail release set for 2018 specifically focuses on the tension between the Stark and Lannister families. Expansions are common with miniatures games like these, so expect the game to introduce the other houses of Westeros over time.

A Song of Ice and Fire is in the hands of CMON Limited. The miniature and board games publisher has seen lots of success with past Kickstarter efforts, such as Arcadia Quest, Zombicide and Massive Darkness.

The most recent Zombicide expansion picked up more than $4 million on Kickstarter. I wouldn’t be surprised to see A Song of Ice and Fire sail right past that, given the series smash-hit success on HBO and CMON’s impressive Kickstarter rsum.

There’s not a lot of info so far on how the game plays or what the figurines crafted by Dark Sword Miniatures look like. An excerpt from CMON’s announcement unveils a handful of details:

Battles can range from large-scale wars with hundreds of miniatures, to simple skirmishes between a few units without complicating the elegantly designed rules. The game features several unique systems, including alternating activations that keep the players engaged; a Rank System that changes a units capabilities as the battle rages on; a Tactics System that provides strategic powers fueled by a finite resource each round; and, most importantly, the iconic Heroes, such as Robb Stark and Jaime Lannister, that can change the course of war both on and off the battlefield.

Expect more on all of that when the Kickstarter surfaces, likely over the summer.

‘American Horror Story’ Was Renewed For 2 More Seasons

If your idea of a good time is watching Lady Gaga play herself with a bad accent and/or listening to people murder each other creatively while you cover your eyes, youre in luck. was renewed for two more seasons, which is surprising to exactly no one because as fucked up as always winds up being, its also the shit. Plus, the ratings are through the roof every season so its not like it was in danger of getting cancelled.

ICYMI, everyone lost their shit last year when the shows creator, Ryan Murphy, dangled the possibility of a Murder House/Coven crossover season. Well, it turns out hes a fucking tease (and actors’ schedules are apparently hard to work around). There arent any plans for the crossover to happen in 2017, so we still have to wait to watch Jessica Lange and Connie Britton try to out-weird each other on the same screen again.

On the other hand, were still getting two new seasons of bizarre shit. Also, more shirtless Evan Peters. I guess we can deal.

Actress Nathalie Emmanuel recently opened up about the damaging nature of seeing predominantly white casts on television while growing up.

In an interview with Hunger magazine, the Game of Thrones star, who is half Dominican said that she didnt see people who reflected her racial identity during her childhood.

For me, when I was growing up, not seeing anyone on television that looked like me or that I could identify with was really hard, and that can affect someones self-esteem hugely,Emmanuel — who plays Missandei, a translator on “Game of Thrones”– told Hunger.

Emmanuel, who also played Ramsey, a computer hacker in Fast and Furious 7 lauded the movies casting for its exemplary diversity. But where the rest of the Hollywood whose diversity issue was bought to light in 2016 during the #OscarsSoWhite controversy is concerned, she said that despite the attempts at diverse casting, she doesnt know how long-standing these efforts will be.

Will it be that they just do the one film and then it goes back? she questioned. If you go up for anything, you know there is always a cast of people and a small number of them are [from] a minority.

The majority of the cast will be white with a few roles from a different ethnicity. Ultimately thats not the world we live in, she said.

The Final ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Will Only Have Six Episodes

Bidding Westeros adieu might not be painless, but it will be quick.

During a South by Southwest panel on Sunday, Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed that the eighth and final season, airing next year, will have only six episodes.

Season 7, which premieres July 16, will feature seven episodes. Each prior season spans 10.

Having wrapped Season 7, Benioff and Weiss are beginning the writing process for next years denouement. No ice-melting premiere date has been announced.

In other Game of Thrones news out of SXSW, Ed Sheeran will have a cameo in the upcoming season.Benioff and Weiss didnt divulge the singers role, but it looks like the HBO smash could be Sheerans Castle Black on the Hill.

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 premiere date unveiled after reveal stunt hits snag

(CNN)HBO has finally announced the premiere date for “Game of Thrones” Season 7, much to the relief of the show’s followers who lit Twitter on fire after tuning into a glitch-filled Facebook Live.

The new season will premiere July 16.

The announcement came after a bumpy attempt to make the premiere date reveal a bit of an event.

HBO had arranged to break the news during a Facebook Live on Thursday afternoon.

Eager fans who tuned in were greeted by a block of ice and instructed to leave comments — specifically the word “fire” — in order to melt the ice and reveal the premiere date.

At one point the stream had over 100,000 viewers. Nearly 15 minutes into the stunt, the live stream cut to black without revealing when the series would return.

Jokes ensued.

An attempt at a second stream also ended abruptly.

The date was eventually unveiled in a third attempt at a live stream, which drew more than 160,000 viewers at its peak.

HBO also released a new teaser.

As previously reported, “Game of Thrones” producers had to push back production on the new season so they could film in a wintery setting, resulting in a later than usual start date.

“Game of Thrones” typically debuts in April, with the exception of Season 3, which dropped in late March.

Season 7 will consist of only seven episodes — down from its typical ten.

Game of Thrones season seven trailer and premiere date revealed

An initial look at the penultimate season of HBOs hit fantasy drama, which returns this summer, suggests dark times ahead

After a dramatic reveal involving a giant melting block of ice, its now been confirmed that season seven of Game of Thrones will premiere on 16 July.

The hit HBO series, which is set to end after season eight, has also been teased via a brief new trailer with dragon graphics and selected lines of dialogue.

Unlike previous 10-episode seasons, the seventh will consist of just seven installments and will be a combination of original stories and elements from creator George RR Martins eagerly awaited novels The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring.

Details are scarce, but star Emilia Clarke has teased that there will be another battle thats epic to follow on from the Battle of the Bastards.

Showrunner David Benioff has also spoken about the show heading towards its conclusion after the eighth season and what viewers can expect. The pieces are on the board now, he said last year. Some of the pieces have been removed from the board and we are heading toward the endgame. The thing that has excited us from the beginning, back to the way we pitched it to HBO is, its not supposed to be an ongoing show, where every season its trying to figure out new storylines. We wanted it to be one giant story, without padding it out to add an extra 10 hours, or because people are still watching it. We wanted to do something where, if people watched it end to end, it would make sense as one continuous story. Were definitely heading into the endgame now.

The new season will reunite surviving cast members but also introduce Oscar winner Jim Broadbent. Im a maester, an archmaester, he said of his role. Im an old professor character.

Once the series concludes, theres already speculation that it might lead to a spin-off. Last year, HBOs programming president, Casey Bloys, spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the possibility. Its such a big property we would be foolish not to explore it, but its a pretty high bar, he said. Well take some shots at it. Im not going to do it just to do it. It has to feel very special. I would rather have no sequel and leave it as is than have something we rushed out.

Roanoke, aka The Lost Colony, was an English settlement in late 16th-century North Carolina. One day in 1590, explorer-turned-Governor John White returned to the colony from a trip to England to find all 118 members missing without any sign of struggle.

Fires still burned and food sat out as though residents abandoned the colony mid-task. The only clue was the word CROATOAN the name of a local native settlement populated by the Hatteras Indians carved into a wooden post on the premises.

If not, feast your eyeballs on 15 seconds of this long-armed, creepy ass, rock monster dude:

Yeah, we still have NO idea what is going to happen in the sixth season of Ryan Murphy’s murder show, but it does look pretty cool.

But did that long-armed, creepy ass, rock monster dude remind anyone of anything?

If you’ve watched the hot new Netflix cult show of the summer, “Stranger Things,” you might know what I’m talking about.

If you haven’t seen it, basically what happens is (don’t worry, no real spoilers): these four nerdy boys, who love playing Dungeons and Dragons, find out the monster from their favorite game, is totally real.

They call it the Demogorgon, and it looks like this:

Hmmm. So “Stranger Things,” one of the most popular horror/supernatural shows around, has their ownlong-armed, creepy ass, rock monster dude, and then “American Horror Story” suddenly has one too?

Nature Just Obliterated A Famous Game Of Thrones Landmark

It served as the spectacular backdrop for Daenerys Targaryens wedding to Khal Drogo in the first ever episode of Game of Thrones.

But the natural Azure Window rock arch that jutted off Gozo Islandin the Maltese archipelago is sadly no more. A powerful stormWednesday caused the arch and its stack to collapse into the sea below, reports the Times of Malta.

There was a big raging sea beneath the window, said local resident Roger Chessell, who witnessed the collapse. Suddenly, the arch collapsed into the sea with a loud whoomph, throwing up a huge spray. By the time the spray had faded, the stack had gone too.

Maltas Prime Minister Joseph Muscat called the collapse of the limestone rock heartbreaking.

He revealed via Twitter that officially commissioned studies had indicated it would be hard hit by unavoidable natural corrosion. That sad day arrived, Muscat added.

The Island of Gozos tourist board also lamented the loss of the rock formation, known locally as it-Tieqa tad-Dwejra,which it estimated that 80 percent of all tourists to the island had visited.

The inevitable and the much feared has happened, it said via a statement on Facebook. The flagship of the Gozitan touristic sites has sunk in its same birth place from where for thousands of years, it stood high and proud heralding one of the natural beauties our little island is endowed with.

Game Of Thrones fans are lit rn!!!

It’s been a very long winter for fans of the HBO fantasy series knowing that we have to wait until the summer for Season 7’s premiere.

But it looks as if the penultimate year will be well worth the wait, as evidenced by the VERY dramatic (and unifying) unveiling of the premiere date!

Fans were invited to a live Facebook video that slowly revealed the important date by melting a block of ice (which we assume was made from the frozen tears of fans across the globe) typing in “fire” or “dracarys.”

After enough Facebook warriors commanded a firestorm of comments, the ice melted away — revealing the Emmy-winning series would return on… drumroll please… July 16, 2017!

YES! We. Cannot. Wait. Any. Longer.

‘American Horror Story’ shares three creepy teasers for Season 6

American Horror Story is returning for Season 6 Sept. 14, and while we may still have no idea what its theme will be, we do know that it’s going to be creepy as hell.

FX released three short, mysterious teasers on Snapchat Wednesday evening, and left it to viewers to guess what it all means. There’s a farmhouse letting out an ominous cloud of black smoke, a baby crib mobile made of knives and other very sharp objects, a bunch of question marks next to the number 6 and, like, way more creepy demon hands than is probably necessary.

Here’s The First Connection To The Upcoming Season Of ‘American Horror Story’

RYAN MURPHY HAS BEEN OBSESSED WITH COLONIAL MYSTERY FOR THE ENTIRE RUN OF AMERICAN HORROR STORY, Y’ALL.

And in season six, his grandest nightmares come to fruition.

A clip from season one, arguably the best season of this dang show, gives AHS fans a little history lesson on what’s that? FREAKING ROANOKE, OBVIOUSLY.

Sarah Paulson’s character, psychic Billie Dean Howard, explains the spirit world to Taissa Farmiga’s character (YASSS TAISSA! COME BACK, TAISSA!), Violet, via the tale of the Lost Colony of Roanoke.

The crew spent four months constructing a colonial terror home in a California forest for our entertainment, TMZ reports.

Fans can expect to see Angela Bassett (LIVING for AB) and Kathy Bates (I said LIVING for KB, LIV-ING) in scenes shot in and around the home.

At the risk of beating a horse so dead it’s just an actual tube of glue, there’s still no word on whether ya girl Taissa Farmiga will return to the show to participate in the secret horrors of the Lost Colony.

Last year, in an interview with Bustle, the actress revealed her willingness to work with RyGuy and the gang again.

She said,

I think it’s still up in the air… You never know. I would totally pop back in and say hi for a minute.

New Theory Says ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Is About Charles Manson

Internet sleuths are busy uncovering clues in the promos for season six of American Horror Story. Despite set photos that depicted the colonial settlement of Roanoke, people are leaning hard in the direction of a Manson Family theme.

EXHIBIT FREAKING A:

A screen shot from a season six teaser shows torturous tools dangling to spell out PIG. This is the same word Manson Family member Susan Atkins wrote in victim Sharon Tate’s blood, on the front door of the crime scene.

Perhaps creator Ryan Murphy plans to forge a connection between Manson’s California desert commune and the North Carolinian colonyof Roanoke, thus making some sense of the disjointed clues viewers have gathered so far.

In a 2013 interview with Deadline, Murphy admitted his first choice for the storyline of season three of American Horror Story was not, in fact, New Orleans witches: It was the story of Charles Manson and his followers.

He shared,

There was a point last year in August where I was like, ‘I want to do an entire season about the [Charles] Manson case.’ But then we decided that wasn’t respectful to the victims, and it’s really hard to get life rights.

So I went to the other idea, which was New Orleans witches that I’ve always been obsessed with. We might go back to the Manson thing in some regard one day.

BUT IS TODAY THAT DAY, RYGUY? IS. TODAY. THAT. DAY?

Vanity Fair suggested that the show’s promotional image featuring merely a red 6 represented not only the number of the current season, but also the mark of the beast. If season six or 666 does revolve around a Satanic cult spanning the centuries, there is a rich history of American crime collectives for the show to explore.

Imagine: The return of Taissa Farmiga to “AHS” as Susan Atkins.

American Horror Story Is Throwing Fans Off The Scent With FAKE Teasers For The Season 6 Theme!

Thought you figured out the theme for American Horror Story‘s sixth season?! Well, think again!

Even though the show has released some creepy teasers for the upcoming installment of the horror anthology, Ryan Murphy and FX CEO John Landgraf are still trying to keep fans in the dark.

The network exec dished at the Television Critics Association press tour that he and the Glee creator are playing it close to the vest this time, saying:

“Every year, we lay out the themes and the new genre Ryan is going to be approaching; we thought it’d be fun [this year] to keep it a mystery so we are.”

In fact, the two have enlisted FX’s marketing big wig Stephanie Gibbons to help throw excited viewers off the scent… by releasing DECOY teasers!

That’s right!

Out of all those trailers you’ve seen for Ryan and Brad Falchuk‘s scary brainchild, almost all of them have NOTHING to do with the season 6 theme!

John spilled:

“There are many more trailers than you’ve actually seen for hypothetical seasons of American Horror Story different genres, different places. One of them is accurate; the others are all misdirects.”

So, it’s just a guessing game at this point! LOLz! Sneaky, sneaky…

We suppose we’ll have to tune in when AHS season six premieres Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on FX in order to find out the genre this time around!

OK, BUT, SAR, can we at least admit Charles Manson isnt season sixs theme while still expecting one of the upcoming episodes to reference or depict his crime at some point?

Leaked AHS set photos mirroring crime scene snaps from the house Sharon Tate and husband Roman Polanski were renting the night they were murdered are so, so, so hard to ignore.

If the ancient Satanic cult theories people have been floating hold up, Sarahs insistence the entire season doesnt revolve around the Manson family could be true while still keeping Ryan Murphys overall theme a secret on a technicality.

Another explanation for set photos so closely resembling crime scene pics is the possibility Murphy and his crew have been intentionally leaking fake set photos (including those alluding to a possible Roanoke theme) all along.
