‘Game Of Thrones’ Officially Made TV History With Its 12 New Emmy Wins

In case you missed it, Game of Thrones absolutely crushed the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night.

From Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Peter Dinklage lighting up the red carpet to Game of Thrones winning awards for Best Directing, Best Drama and Best Writing, the night was truly one to remember for Westeros best and brightest.

After racking up 12 Emmy awards in total this year, Game of Thrones beat Frasier for the most Emmys ever for a scripted show, 38.

A Song of Ice and Fire writer George RR Martin joined HBO showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss on stage to acceptone of the shows 12 awards.

Addressing the Microsoft Theatercrowd, Benioff said,

We have the best cast thats I think ever been assembled.

Thats a bold statement, but taking the success and popularity of GoT into account, Benioff is probably right on the money.

Ugh, is it summer 2017 yet?
