The NY Giants Used ‘Game Of Thrones’ To Help Them Beat The Cowboys

Sunday, the New York Giants opened their season with a 20-19 win over the Cowboys in Dallas.

You could say their victory was fueled by Eli Mannings three touchdown passes, the return of wide receiver Victor Cruz and some key additions to their ailing defense.

Or, you could read this awesome story about first-year head coach Ben McAdoo showing the Giants the Ramsay Bolton death scene from Game of Thrones in order to pump his team up.

The New York Giants and Game of Thrones are arguably my two favorite things on the planet other than my family, girlfriend and friends, of course so I was giddy like a schoolgirl after reading about McAdoos unique inspirational methods.

You remember the Ramsay Bolton death scene, right? You know, the moment Ramsays starved hounds turned on their master at the end of the Battle of the Bastards, and we saw that Sansa Stark smirk that will forever haunt our dreams.

As far as why he showed the clip from the show that got 23 Emmy nominations last year to his team, one of the Giants playersreportedly said,

It was about being hungry. Just being the hungriest team in the NFL, in the NFC, all that.

Uh, mission achieved, coach. I think Id be ready to run through a brick wall after watching that clip on repeat.

The Giants got the win and currently sit atop the standings in the NFC East, albeit by one game, so Id say they should keep watching Game of Thrones all season long if they want to make it to the Super Bowl before Daenerys, Jon and the dragons reach Kings Landing.
